The Derive Aspect tool creates an aspect map from an elevation data source. Aspect identifies the downslope direction of the maximum rate of change in value from each cell to its neighbors. Aspect can be thought of as the slope direction. The values of the output raster will be the compass direction of the aspect.
The elevation layer for which the aspect of each cell location will be calculated.
This is the name of the layer that will be created in My Content and added to the map. The default name is based on the tool name and the input layer name. If the layer already exists, you will be asked to provide another name.
Using the Save result in drop-down box, you can specify the name of a folder in My Content where the result will be saved.
